Drapetomania

I have nothing to say about it, I just wanted to call attention to it for anyone who might have been as unaware of it as I was. Scientific racism at its finest.

Also: relevance to contemporary society? Discuss.

just have one copy-editing quibble with the wikipedia page - instead of 'edifice' of scientific racism, shouldn't it be 'artifice'? you know, for accuracy and stuff...

Anony, thanks for the tip, I hadn't looked at that. Good to know that something as terrible as Dysaethesia Aethiopica is "easily curable, if treated on sound physiological principles."

My goal now, incidentally, is to mold myself into the physical image of Samuel Cartwright.
